BNU Zhuhai Teachers and Students Attend WFUNA International Model United Nation in New York
WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN), hosted by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), was held in New York from 3 to 6 February 2025 under the theme "Working Together for a Sustainable Future". Led by faculty members of School of Future Design（SFD）Zhou Tiange and Zhong Xu, students of SFD, Li Yanhui, Chen Hejia, Wu Yixuan, Fang Yiyu and a student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Zhang Jie, discussed global governance plans with 1,500 youth representatives from more than 80 countries around the world.

BNU Students Invited to Participate in the "Meet the Future · Global Youth Pioneer Program - 2025 Harvard China Trek Exchanges and Mutual Learning Event"
The "Meet the Future · Global Youth Pioneer Program - 2025 Harvard China Trek Exchanges and Mutual Learning Event" co-organized by China NGO Network for International Exchanges, China Cultural Heritage Foundation, and Zhejiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Hangzhou. Beijing Normal University Emerging Markets Research Institute is the sponsor of this event. Five international students from Belt and Road School (BRS) and five Chinese students recommended by BNU Zhuhai were invited to participate in the activity, together with 46 members of the student delegation from the Harvard Kennedy School and about 150 representatives from domestic social organizations, media, enterprises, universities and other sectors, to carry out in-depth cultural exchanges and mutual learning activities.

"Global North-South Youth Dialogue" Held at BNU
"Global North-South Youth Dialogue", co-sponsored by Belt and Road School (BRS) and Jingshi Academy, was held. The visiting group of the College of William and Mary of the United States was invited to BNU, and gathered together with international students and experts and scholars from 33 countries such as Ethiopia, Liberia, Myanmar and Indonesia. They participated in the activity online and offline in Beijing and Zhuhai.

From February 11 to 13, 2025, the "The Partners' Meeting on Integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage into Contemporary Fashion Design" co-sponsored by the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia and the People's Government of Chuxiong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, was held in Chuxiong. School of Future Design(SFD) of Beijing Normal University(BNU), as one of the representatives of Chinese universities, explored the contemporary transformation path of traditional culture with non-genetic inheritors, fashion designers and scholars from China, Japan, Korea and Mongolia, and demonstrated the pioneering practice of universities in the field of intangible cultural heritage innovation.

Dr. Qiu Xuelan Visits to Have In-depth Discussion of Application of Machine Learning in Educational Data Analysis
On the morning of January 6, 2025, at the invitation of Professor Liang Guancheng, Director of the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research, Dr. Qiu Xuelan from Australian Catholic University, gave a lecture on the topic of "Comparing the Impact of COVID-19 on Student Mathematics Achievement: A Multilevel Machine Learning Analysis of PISA 2022". This lecture aims to explore the impact of COVID-19 on global students' math performance through the analysis of large-scale international education data.

Supported by the Exchange Program for Teachers and Students of Primary and Secondary Schools and Universities in Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland under the Ministry of Education, the China Basic Education Quality Monitoring Collaborative Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Collaborative Center") held the 5th Education Evaluation and Monitoring Talent Exchange Activity by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and University of Macau (UM)at BNU Zhuhai. Emerging Contaminants, a Cooperative Journal of BNU Zhuhai and KeAi, Selected as an Outstanding Academic Journal of International Influence in China
According to the International Citation Annals of Chinese Academic Journals (2024 edition), BNU Zhuhai and KeAi's co-contaminants, Emerging Contaminants, were selected as "China's Outstanding Academic Journals ", an honor that affirms the journal's international influence. According to Scopus, Emerging Contaminants published 100 papers in 2024, with overseas articles accounting for 66%. In 2024, there were 2,189 new citations, of which 77% were from overseas.

Jia Weijia and Wang Tian Listed among Top 0.05% of World's Top Scientists
International academic institution ScholarGPS has released a list of the top 0.05% of the world's top scientists in 2024. Professor Jia Weijia and Professor Wang Tian of the Institute of AI and Future Networks of the Advanced Institute of Natural Sciences of Beijing Normal University were both selected as the top 0.05% of the world's top scientists in the past five years.

The MUSE Awards, one of the most influential awards in the global design field, has announced the winners. The works "Nomadic Inflatable Camping tent" and "Nomadic Campstool" created by Wang Yubin, Zhang Xu and Guo Longjie, led by Gong Shuai, a teacher from School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University, won the gold MEDALS in the "Product Design - Travel Accessories" and "Furniture Design - Outdoor" categories of the 2024 MUSE Design Awards.

"Flowing Soundscape: Touching Kandinsky", a work by faculty and students of School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University, was displayed at the exhibition for the first time in a real-time interactive form. The work is an interactive audio-visual installation that uses digital technology to immerse the viewer in Kandinsky's synesthetic art. This interactive piece allows the viewer to interact with Kandinsky's work through gesture interaction technology.
